There’s no doubt that a handmade piece of knitwear is beautiful but it takes a long time to knit even for a professional knitter. However sweaters, jumpers and cardigans can be just as luxurious and gorgeous when sewn too. All it takes is a few hours and some sweater knit know-how!
WHAT IS A SWEATER KNIT?
There’s a wide variety of sweater knits available but they come in two main categories – open and dense knits. Both these textural fabrics are made up of inter-looping yarn and made on industrial knitting machines. Open knits are very light, loose and made with fine yarns in pretty lacy-style patterns and need stabilising as they unravel very easily.
