Teenage heiress Francisca Amorim describes her family’s home in the heart of Portugal’s Alentejo region as a “paradise” – and few could argue with that.
It’s a sprawling, whitewashed villa nestled amid olive groves, thriving vines and cork oak woodlands (known in Portugal as montados), with deer and wild boar roaming the vast grounds, which sit beside a vast man-made lake that glistens in the sunshine.
The place holds many treasured memories for 19-year-old Francisca, whose pride in her family roots shines through.
