What is an international design calendar without Milan Design Week? After taking a hiatus in 2020, the fair was back in September with a packed schedule and a tweaked format to make sure we could celebrate design safely and relevantly. These tweaks included Supersalone, a pared-down format of Salone del Mobile Milano that was open to the general public and a digital version of the showcase for the first time ever.
All told, the event was incredibly well-received, signalling a hopeful recovery of the design industry and the robust appetite from the market despite the notable absence of Asian and Scandinavian brands, which preferred to showcase at their respective home turf. Nonetheless, there was plenty to admire from Milan Design Week 2021 other showings across various districts. Here are our favourites.
