Allow state officials to turn state land into productive farms

Some of today’s successful farmers were former government officials from the apartheid era who decided to cash in their pensions during the transitional period (1993 to 1997) and venture into farming.

The trend of state officials turning into farming continues. The worry, though, is they tend to join the sector when they have been pushed out of their first-choice careers. This is partly why farming is seen by many as an employer of last resort.
