TORQUE BACK

ED EVANS REPLIES: Your vehicle’s condition and reliability record at 410,000 kms is testament to the value of a good service regime, which includes replacing parts when they are needed, as you have done, rather than delaying. So the best advice I can give you is to continue servicing and maintaining the truck in the way you have done so far and, of course, driving it sympathetically.

Oil and filter changes on all of the vehicle systems are essential for this sort of longevity, as is being vigilant in checking around at service times and while driving, for signs of any developing problems and investigating and treating them quickly. Ensure both engine oil filters (full flow and centrifugal) are replaced according to the service schedule to ensure the engine parts and the turbocharger are fully protected.

At service times, check carefully for coolant leaks and replace antifreeze at the prescribed intervals to maintain internal corrosion protection.
