Editor’s note

But it’s a happy cold

WE’VE ALL HEARD the clichés about Canadians: We apologize a lot. We love poutine and double-doubles. We say “aboot.” These are stereotypes and often not at all rooted in reality. Personally, I do love a good poutine, but it’s certainly not the thing that defines me as a Canadian.

In my view, what defines our nation best is our physical landscape. How apply here: the scenery took my breath away, it left me in awe, it filled me with wonder.
