MAXWELL’S FULL HOUSE AT THE HAYES

The 2021 Walter Hayes Trophy winner Max Esterson summed up his weekend crisply to Motorsport News: “Qualified first, won the heat, won the semi and led every lap of the final.”

It is in the nature of Walter Hayes Trophies to be unpredictable; Formula Fords on Silverstone’s national layout lending themselves to frenzied pack racing. But Esterson, driving with the storied Team USAScholarship and Low Dempsey Racing, this time came as close to dominance as this event allows. From the weekend’s outset he looked the one to beat, and in the end no-one could.

“Couldn’t be any better, the car was just on rails,” Esterson continued.
