Last year, Porsche celebrated seventy years of trading in the USA. It was autumn 1950 when a fateful meeting between Ferdinand ‘Ferry’ Porsche and New York-based European sports car importer, Max Hoffman, led to the decision a fledgling German automotive manufacturer from humble beginnings would begin exporting its sports cars to America.
