3D PRINTING FOR SCALE MODELS

There’s no doubt that 3D printing has changed the hobby in many ways. Whether it’s for making a few replacement parts or 3D printing entire RC aircraft, the possibilities are truly endless! As a technology, it has been around for a few decades but the availability of affordable, at-home, desktop 3D printers has made the technology accessible to the masses. For scale modelers, it opens up so many opportunities for detailing that otherwise in the past had to be intricately crafted by hand from various materials or from a kit if you could find one. With 3D printing, now it’s a matter of modeling a part in CAD and hitting print on the 3D printer. Within hours, having parts for your scale project is possible!

3D printing really is a hobby on its own, and) is a big one. If there’s something you’re looking for, there’s a good chance someone may have already designed it and made it available online.
