HISTORY BOOK

AFTER near-on 40 years of following Street Machine magazine, I thought I might finally put pen to paper.

I remember the day my grandfather bought me my first issue of SM from Cronulla newsagency. It was the Aug-Sep ’84 issue with Chris Christou’s HO-775 XY Falcon on the cover (right). From then on I have yearned to have my own car in the mag; however, that still remains as a future endeavour unfortunately. Family, mortgages and the like tend to lurk in the way of these things.

These days, the good lady surprises me with an odd issue here and there, or even my darling old mum snaring a subscription for me, and then it all comes flowing back why, ever since that first issue in 1984, I love SM so
