This article will appear shortly after our first High Park shoot. I will, of course, let you know how we get on. Meanwhile, the generally pleasant routine of pheasant care goes on. Horsefield, by the way, is looking distinctly nervous. This may be partly because, as last year, I have told him that his job is on the line and that if he doesn’t produce the goods on the day, I shall be looking for someone else to help me with the running of High Park.
I cannot, of course, expect Horsefield to guarantee suitable weather for the occasion. So I am besieging the weather gods with prayers for a cool, dry day
