Why shooting rabbits is as good as it comes

Over the years, I have written many thousands of words regarding my pursuit of the rabbit. In my youth, I trudged the hedgerows of rural Kent with my grandfather carrying a couple of ferrets in an old hessian sack. I learned to read the signs of an active burrow and how to set the handmade hemp purse-nets.
In later life, I continued my passion for ferreting, but instead of my grandfather for company, I was joined by a couple of collie-cross lurchers, Midge and Tilly. These two canine rabbit-catchers gave me my first glimpse of how exciting working in partnership with a dog could be.
Fast forward 40 years and I find myself once again
