Dado Blade Basics
The main job of a standard table saw blade is division. You rip one wide board into two or more narrow pieces. Or crosscut a panel into smaller fractions. A dado blade on the other hand works on the principle of addition by subtraction. This isn’t some form of new math. With a dado blade, you can add a groove to a workpiece by removing some of the material from that part.
