“It’s obvious but Apple never do the ‘obvious’”
Ever since Apple included M1 chips in their latest iPad Pros – actually way before that, really – there’ve been to get excited. Firstly, and most crucially, it seems like an obvious thing to do but Apple never do the ‘obvious’. Secondly if Logic came out on the iPad in all its desktop glory, I’d really want ( want) to run all my Logic projects on an iPad with all of the associated stuff running with it, so every third party app would have to run or I’d be mightily pissed off (I’m so demanding). And that’s going to take a major effort. But, as we reveal this issue, the all-new iPads still have plenty to excite us, not least the easier connectivity of audio peripherals to the iPad range via USB and Thunderbolt, and some pretty amazing apps out there to run on them. We’ve got it covered from p16. Sad news now. As we go to press we’ve just heard that this will be the last issue that has a DVD thanks to costs trebling in recent days. (Brexit? Mostly.) Rather than pass that cost onto you, we’ll offer way more than you ever got on the DVD via download from now on. We still need to improve that experience (a lot!) so bear with us. More news next issue…
