Briefly define the modern Dutch style.
It is a balance between architectural elements and planting, but more inclined towards the former than things are in Britain. Crucially, these architectural elements, such as clipped foliage, have a modernist, post-Bauhaus style – not a classical style – so they always feel contemporary. Often there are surprises.
