Last fall I was contacted about helping with a herd dispersal of 19 purebred Arabians located in southern Manitoba. As I’m really quite snoopy, of course I said yes.
A long-time retired breeder, who was now in his 70s, had decided it was time to sell off his remaining Arabians. His plan was to take the horses to an auction that was being held in the vicinity of his farm. His staff were concerned about this idea, so one of them reached out to one of the local rescues who in turn contacted me. Once the owner was advised that taking them to an auction could be their death sentence, that plan was quickly nixed.
The owner agreed to meet
