“ WELCOME TO THE immobile ones!” said a journalist friend of mine when I came back from South America with my motorcycle as hand luggage. She quickly forgot that the adventurer (activus aventurus) is a bipedal mammal always on the go – indeed I was leaving for Africa a few weeks later.
The aventurus species is said to be endangered but my path crossed many of them, fleeing the first symptoms of an anxiety-provoking virus called “routine”.
