Some years back, the author came across one that fitted the above criteria perfectly. But for several reasons, it was not possible to feature it at the time, until now that is! Thanks to owner Robert Muggeridge and his father George, it was taken to the September 4-5 MacMillan Nurses charity rally at Balls Cross near Wisborough Green, West Sussex, especially so we could feature it in TFH magazine.

In the Chichester district of West Sussex, England just five miles southwest of the city lies the idyllic village of Birdham on the shores of Chichester harbour. It is home to a locked marina on the site of a former tide millpond, and in fact, the tide mill building itself still exists.
It wasn’t prime farming land as such, but a Mr Cook had a smallholding here where he conducted his contracting business - much of it mowing work. After the Second World War, he used a 1946/7 David Brown VAK1/A, which he possibly bought
