Octomom appeared – as all things do at that depth – from out of the darkness. A mile beneath the Pacific, in a trench the size of the Grand Canyon, a robotic submarine turned and caught her in its beam. There she was: a single octopus sitting on a cliff edge on a nest of eggs.
