AS AN ETHICAL hunter, you have a responsibility to dispatch the quarry with a minimum of pain and suffering. Achieving this will depend on whether your equipment is up to the task and whether you place the shot so that your projectile – bullet or arrow – reaches a vital organ, causing immediate or rapid death.
During your stalk, when that critical moment arrives for you to decide whether to shoot or not, occasionally an ethical sense tells you not to, and you relax the pressure on your trigger finger. Considering the time, money and effort taken to bring you to this point, this can be a tough decision, but sometimes passing up the shot
