HOME COMFORTS

As Apple’s iOS mobile operating system has evolved, the number of ways in which we can customise the appearance of our iPhone Home Screens has increased. As well as changing the wallpaper, we can now add widgets, hide apps and even change the appearance of our app icons to truly make our iPhones our own. Over the following pages, we’ll show you how to do all of this and more, including delving into the iOS Accessibility settings to alter the look of the Dock and make adjustments to the main font used. If you want to put your own personality stamp on your iPhone then you’ve come to the right place!

Covering the basics

Before you start going to town with the customisation of your Home Screen, there are a couple of settings you can tweak to deal with general app icon-related clutter.

1 Open Settings

Go to Settings>Home Screen and set the ‘Newly Downloaded Apps’ option to ‘App Library Only’. This means that your Home Screen won’t become cluttered with app icons going forward.

2 Remove app icons

For app icons already on your Home Screen, simply long-press on them, tap ‘Remove App’ from the menu and then select the ‘Remove From Home Screen’ option to keep them in your App Library.

3 Hide Home Screens
