Research provides important step in dealing with strangles

NEW strangles data has provided a “stepping stone” to better disease surveillance in the UK.

Last month, researchers published Surveillance of strangles in UKhorses between 2015 and 2019 based on laboratory detection of, which aimed to provide “important insights” into the diagnosis and clinical features of strangles in horses. During the study period, 1,617 laboratory-confirmed diagnoses occurred from samples submitted by 315 vet practices across the UK.
