Under lockdown with PERPC
This has been an interesting year. National, provincial and club events have been cancelled or postponed. The IPSC world shoot to be hosted in Thailand during 2020 has been postponed to 2021. Shooting ranges became uninhabited, which led to large-scale theft and destruction of equipment, ranges and infrastructure. PERPC was not spared. Large sums of money have been invested in club facilities, as PERPC hosted the third round of the South African handgun championships during October 2019, with a scheduled shotgun South African Championship to be hosted during 2021.
The Covid-19 pandemic struck and South Africa went into hard lockdown at midnight from 26 March to 30 April. This gave many competitors a chance to catch up on some much-needed reloading, which was a great time-killer while stuck at home, offering a break from the routine. Vast amounts of time were spent running through dry-fire drills to keep the competitive edge gained on the shooting range.
