Czech brand Skoda’s Karoq mid-size SUV shares its structure, and most hardware, with parent company VW’s Tiguan.
Karoq is priced at $34,590 for the 110kW/250Nm 1.4-litre turbopetrol four-cylinder/eight-speed automatic/front-wheel-drive 110TSI.
That’s several thousand dollars less than the base VW Tiguan, with the same engine and a six-speed transmission.
The 140TSi Sportline, at $41,290, runs a 140kW/320Nm 2.0-litre turbopetrol/sevenspeed DSG/all-wheel drivetrain.
The VW Group’s 1.4-litre turbopetrol has been around for a while now
