It took just a 15-minute tour of their townhouse to convince Katie and Arthur that they wanted to buy it. Yet it was a further six months – following protracted negotiations and the final exchange of contracts – before they saw it again inside. ‘We were really excited to have finally bought a house together,’ says Katie. ‘We were living close by so we made a point of walking past it as often as possible.
