Yes, welcome to the 2021 Ultra Tune MAXIM HOT 100 — our annual, eclectic and definitive list of Australian women who have impressed, made headlines or simply had a huge year. And despite being marred by lockdowns, restrictions, border closures and whatever else the COVID pandemic caused, 2021 saw an abundance of fine and fierce femmes who have wowed us with their aptitude, intellect, humour, attributes and overall mega talents.

None more so than this year’s winner, and Australia’s most decorated Paralympian, Ellie Cole (pictured, left, with some creep). In an Olympic and Paralympic year, sport became our outlet and conduit to a world of escapism. It’s only fitting that this truly extraordinary champion is our numero uno. So, sit back and enjoy this super-sizzling special edition of MAXIM. Cheers,

100 Jenny Morrison

It’s been a tough year for Jenny. Not only having to deal with the constant gaffes and missteps of her PM husband, but there was the weird Four Corners report about the family friend of the Morrisons’ who is a well-known conspiracy theorist and QANON supporter. To top it off, ScoMo also cited a conversation with Jenny for changing his stance on the Brittany Higgins rape allegations. Jen, you are the official de facto moral authority of Australia!

99 Michaelia Cash

She broke a Liberal party glass ceiling this year after becoming the first woman from the LNP to serve as the Australian Attorney-General, and the second female to serve in the position ever. Replacing the embattled Christian Porter, Michaelia assumed the role which is almost enough to make us forget about her part in leaking information about raids on the Australian Worker’s Union a few years ago. Cash, boom!

98 Melissa Rawson

One of the most-talked about MAFS couples this year was Melissa and partner Bryce Ruthven. Although all of Australia collectively pushed the pair to split given Ruthven’s onscreen behaviour, the two are still together and are now expecting twins! Mel is clearly ecstatic and deserves her spot on our list simply for sticking it out this long with the douchebag.

97 Annastacia Palaszczuk

Queensland’s Premier has had a challenging year. Her hard border stances put her at odds with other States, while her decision to attend the Tokyo Olympics despite borders being closed raised eyebrows. Mind you, she did have to deal with unwanted pressure from oddball Olympic Committee boss John Coates who rudely overruled Anna at a press conference and insist she attend the Games. Listen Johnny, the Palaszczuk does not need anyone’s advice on decision making – just ask the national cabinet.

96 Dr Kerry Chant

Without a doubt, as chief health officer of NSW during a pandemic, this good Dr holds one of the most unenviable jobs and has faced a torrent of online critics – much of it related to her physical appearance. Exhibit A – this before and after doctored image of Chant at one of her many press briefings. Are there valid questions about NSW Health’s handling of the pandemic? Yes. Should Kerry’s look be subject to ridicule? Nope.

95 Gladys Berejiklian

Her smugness over NSW’s COVID record went down in flames this year following a widespread outbreak which plunged the state into months of lockdown. Gladys was routinely questioned as to why she didn’t enter a strict lockdown sooner but instead of answering she decided to discontinue daily press briefings despite cases continuing to rise. But it all came crashing down when the ICAC investigation into her personal relationship with corrupt former politician Daryl Maguire, forced Gladys to resign on October 1. Whoops.

94 Evie McLelland

After making a big splash in our July issue, many were left asking, “Who is this Glamazonian?” But don’t let the bombshell looks and steely glances fool you, Evie is a down-to-earth, old-fashioned kinda girl who loves nothing more than a long lunch and an arvo at the beach. Keep your eyes peeled for a lot more of Miss McLelland in 2022.

93 Sarah Jane Adams

This foxy 65-year-old antique jewellery dealer was the breakout star of the latest season of Big Brother on Seven. Adams certainly broke the mold of thirsty twenty-somethings looking for a career in radio, who usually populate BB. Despite being the oldest contestant on the show to date, SJ is a bona fide fashion
