in on itself like a deflated balloon as the days draw ever tighter into winter. But one of the best things about this time of year – and something that, more and more, gives me huge pleasure – is watching the birds coming to feed and, as the weather gets colder, they increasingly rely upon the food that I put out for them every day right through winter and into spring.
