ONE OF OUR MOST frequent failings as gundog handlers is, I suspect, a failure to see the world as a dog views it.
For a start, our perspective is several feet higher than that of even a tall dog, so it is much easier for us to mark where a bird falls than it is for our canine companion.
Secondly, a dog’s eyesight is very different to ours. Though dogs may not be colour-blind, as was once widely thought, they don’t register the vivid colours
