    THIS story actually goes back to 1979 when the original builder Colin Willoughby, then of Auckland, decided to build a Model A hot rod. Being an extremely accomplished engineer, this particular car was the catalyst to kick start his hot rod engineering business, ComTech, which built many top rods over the next few decades before relocating to Rangiora, North Canterbury.
