In a study conducted by the University of Iowa in the US, farmers were asked to predict risks that might ultimately affect their decisions about adopting precision farming methods. They came up with the following list:
• Input costs would increase faster than commodity prices and yields.
• Commodity price volatility would increase.
• They would suffer at least one crop failure due to adverse weather.
