Station Wagon GREATS

The term station wagon actually derives from what these vehicles were originally designed to do: pick people up from the train station and deliver them and their luggage home or to a hotel in the area. Before the war coachbuilders converted cars and chassis using wooden bodywork to create these multi-purpose practical vehicles. Later after the war, production moved in-house and the wood was replaced with plastics and laminates.
