Kahlúa Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake

MAKES 1 (15-CUP) BUNDT CAKE

½ cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3 large egg whites, room temperature
¾ (4-ounce) bar semisweet chocolate, chopped
¾ cup natural unsweetened cocoa powder
¾ cup Kahlúa*, warmed
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1½ teaspoons kosher salt
¾ teaspoon baking soda
1½ cups whole buttermilk
1½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
Garnish: confectioners’ sugar

1. Preheat oven to 350°. Spray a 15-cup Bundt pan with baking spray with flour.

2. In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla with a mixer at medium speed until fluffy, 3 to 4 minutes, stopping to scrape sides of bowl. Add egg whites, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

3. In a medium bowl, combine chopped chocolate, cocoa, and warm Kahlúa until combined. With mixer on low speed, add chocolate mixture to butter mixture, beating until combined.
