Among all the problems that our readers write to Answers for help with, by far the most popular (?) are booting issues. The vast majority of those relate to GRUB. Unlike its predecessor, GRUB2 is a complex beast. This is good for distro makers as it allows boot setup to be automated, but it can make life difficult when things go wrong.

Things going wrong are prompt invocations that may as well have originated in Hogwarts for all the sense they make. What we need is a simple way to carry out repairs and maintenance of the boot options, and Rescatux is it.
