MACHITSKI AND LIND HOLD ON FOR THE TITLE

In theory there were five contenders for the overall GT3 title in the 2021 British GT championship’s Donington Park finale. In reality Leo Machitski and Dennis Lind in their Barwell Lamborghini held the aces. They had an 18.5-point advantage with 37.5 available and, unlike their nearest rivals, they didn’t have a success penalty to serve.

Machitski/Lind did prevail for the title, but it was via something of a tightrope walk. You know what they say about slips between cup and lip.

“That was super-tense,” new champion Lind admitted to Motorsport News. “But it’s good now.”
