When Genesis’ second – and most likely final – reunion jaunt The Last Domino? Tour was originally announced in a pre-pandemic 2020, there was a scramble for tickets. But over on the Readers Facebook group, displays of enthusiasm were tempered by a significant amount of negativity. It’s hard to pin down why, exactly. Back at the 1978 Knebworth Festival, the crowd enjoyed quintessential progressive rock mini-epics like and the light relief afforded by the new, more straightforward pop of . But some of the group’s original fans clearly didn’t venture much past 1980’s , which was perched on the cusp of these two styles.
