Tim Mundy has worked on Minis since the age of 13. In the 1990s he worked for Oselli Engineering and has been writing for MiniWorld for 25 years. He has owned more than 20 Minis and built two from scratch.

Front squeak

I have a 1989 Mini 30 LE, in reasonably sound condition, which I use on a semi-regular basis. It is still going strong on the original engine and gearbox after 110,000 miles. Recently it has developed a very annoying squeak from the driver's side over even the smallest undulation. I have sprayed the damper mounts and the spring with WD40
