n the world of textiles, not all tapestry is the same. Sometimes used to describe any heavy, tightly woven material, the term “tapestry” more often refers to those elegant woven wall hangings that have adorned fine homes for centuries. Traditionally handwoven on looms and typically made of wool with silk or metallic thread sometimes incorporated, tapestries were first produced in Northern Europe during the Middle Ages.
