Business aviation provides many career paths for young and not so young people who may have initially worked for organisations such as the airlines, small charter companies flight training, or coming from the RAAF.
As in most businesses, a wide variety of skills are required, including management, accounting, aircraft maintenance, despatch and not least, highly trained and experienced pilots.
Many individual stories can be told about dedicated corporate pilots. One that comes to mind is the very dynamic and productive career of Phillip Reiss who, when he decided to learn to fly, set his sights on becoming a professional pilot. With a business background, he was aiming for a career in corporate aviation, not the airlines.
