What Hi-Fi?

WE COMPARE Samsung QE55QN94A Sony XR-55A80J

When awarding What Hi-Fi?’s coveted five-star badge, we always look for the best balance of performance, features and price. an affordable level in their respective ranges, that also include premium, and pricier, versions. In the case of Sony’s XR-55A80J, we love its flagship older sibling, the A90J, but this step-down set has much of what we loved about that TV, at around £1000 cheaper. Samsung’s QE55QN94A is also just one character shy of the company’s top 4K TV for the year, the QN95A, but with a cheeky little discount.

It’s about bang for your buck, then; but our head to head also turns out to be a comparison between competing technologies: OLED and Neo QLED. Which TV has the skills to come out on top? Read on! For a third, strong contender at this level, it’s also worth checking out our five-star review of Panasonic’s also superb TX-55JZ1500B OLED TV back on page 6.
