Düsseldorf DISCOVERIES
The Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf is always a great place to see new products, and this year’s show was no exception, despite the absence of any Erwin Hymer Group brand.
After last year’s understandably subdued affair, this year saw visitors totalling 185,000 – a truly remarkable achievement, given the continuing pandemic restrictions. Here are some of the highlights that caught our eye.
STAR ATTRACTIONS
■ Affinity RV
Born in Poland in January 2020, with the help of Swedish manufacturer Kabe Caravans, Affinity RV set out to offer something different in the panel van conversion market – and it looks as though the firm has succeeded (1).
A Fiat Ducato or Peugeot Boxer panel van – just 6.36m long – manages to include a fixed double bed, twin bunk beds, a spacious double kitchen and a washroom complete with a shower (2). What’s more, in transit, the bed can be raised to hold two bikes underneath.
Fixtures and fittings are of a high standard, reflecting the ethos of the parent company, Kabe.
