Happy Halloween to all my spooky witches and warlocks out there! This is my absolute favourite time of year and to celebrate I wanted to make a seasonal twist on a classic bake.

Almond sponge coloured purple and orange, covered in golden marzipan and a layer of black sugarpaste, this delicious cake is definitely more of a treat than a trick! I’ve kept my battenberg flavours classically almond, but you can really get creative with it and swap out the almond flavouring for anything you like.
