CREATING A SCALE SCHEME

Choosing the full scale aircraft for use as a model subject was challenging. I wanted a design that stands out yet is can be replicated with straightforward model techniques. I ended up choosing L-39 ZU TEE 152. This is a L-39 owned and flown in South Africa. The different tones of silver, light blue, and dark blue with yellow made for a perfect subject.

After all of the air scoops and vent areas are cut out to match the ZU-TEE L-39, I prepped the fuselage, tail groups, and wings then start masking off for the correct colors.

I use Akzo-Nobel paint
