Sitting below the Omen series in the HP hierarchy, the Victus still packs all the important attributes of a gaming laptop: quick-refresh display, powerful GPU and the option to add more RAM and storage. What you don’t get is fripperies, whether that’s a modified keyboard with bolder WASD keys or an RGB light show.

It’s priced to match, with two models currently on sale in the UK: one for £999 with a Core i5 and RTX 3050 Ti graphics, another with a) - only having 4GB of VRAM means you will be forever turning down the graphics detail to get a decent frame rate.
