RIBOLDI RIDDLES

I don’t know where I’d be with my Irish ancestors if it weren’t for the British Newspaper Collection at FindMyPast. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. Every time I think I must be coming to the end of random Riboldi mentions in the Limerick press, I find a new treasure.

This time – perhaps unsurprisingly, seeing as he seems to have taken over the family carving, gilding and mirror-making business after his father’s death – it’s Joseph junior, my 3x great-uncle, who’s hogging the limelight. Not that this particular role is one he would have wanted to play…
