HIGH-PERFORMANCE TIMES

A couple of decades ago, high performance mattered. We had Suzuki (Hayabusa), Honda (Super Blackbird), Kawasaki (ZX-12R), Yamaha (Thunderace), Triumph (1200 Daytona) and BMW (K 1200 S) all offering super-high-performance large-capacity sporty bikes.

Yamaha switched to building the more track-focussed R1 and abandoned the high-performance race, Triumph stopped building four-cylinder motorcycles, while BMW upgraded its bike to the K 1300
