■ 5mm (UK 6, US H/8) crochet hook

■ Yarn needle

■ 9cm (3 5/8") and 7cm (2¾") pom pom makers

■ Tassel maker or small hardback book

tr treble crochet htr half treble crochet inc increase by working 2tr in next st

yrh yarn round hook tr2tog work 2tr together, (yrh, insert hook in next st, yrh and pull up loop, yrh and draw through 2 loops) twice, yrh and draw through all loops on hook rep repeat

bobble, *yrh twice, insert hook into stitch and pull up a loop, (yrh, pull through two loops) twice; repeat from * inpopcorn stitch; work 6tr all in one st, remove live loop from hook, insert hook in top of first tr, place loop on hook and pull through
