KORTO MOMOLU MAY ALREADY BE A HOUSE-hold name to some after appearing on two seasons of Project Runway, but she’s been blazing trails since 2006 when she launched her first custom fashion line. Momolu is creator and stylist whose looks might be described as modern-African-bohemian-chic—funk.She promotesastrong message of women empowerment and diversity. Born in Liberia, raised in Canada, Momolu now thrives in Little Rock. While Arkansas might seem an unlikely place for a fashion-forward designer to raise her family, location has not hindered her vison or success. She earned a place on the impressive “Top 5 Designers to Watch” list after her first appearance at NewYork City’s Fashion Week in 2009 and has since collaborated with Women Grow on a show featuring a hemp-based fashion line where models puffed vape pens on the runway.
