Winkworth Arboretum in Godalming, Surrey
tarting life as a conservation project, Winkworth was established in 1937 by Dr Wilfred Fox. The 46 hectares were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1988, and since then the arboretum has grown to incorporate over 1,000 different species of trees and shrubs – many of which are rare.
