New lease of life

Imogen and Tom Stead’s first home was the perfect size and in a great location – all it needed was a bit of vision. Imogen tells us more about the project

Tell us about your home? It is a typical two-up two-down terrace. We think it is late Victorian or early Edwardian but we can’t actually find it on any records. We’re hoping that it might show up on the 1920 census, which should be out next year.

Did you want a project? Yes we did, but it was also important that the house was liveable, as we knew we’d have to live in it and save up, before being able to start the work.

 Absolutely none – it has been a big learning curve. I think the most I had ever done was helping my parents paint
