Beginner's Guide to FOUNDATION PAPER PIECING

HOW TO DO FPP

For this tutorial, Kate is using a bow template, but you can use the same process to piece any FPP template. You will need three templates for the bow design, Sections A, B and C. We will start with the centre panel (Section A) as it is the easiest so you can learn the technique. You will then make the two side pieces (Sections B and C).

PREPARING THE PIECES

1 Using the templates as a guide, cut the fabric pieces for each section of the FPP template, making sure the pieces will be at least ¼in larger than the section they will cover, all the way round. If you are new to FPP, cut these pieces generously large as it will make it
